Hazel Thomas has been instrumental in moving Premier Community Development Corporation to great levels. As a long-time Ward 5 resident and community activist, Hazel has provided great leadership in terms of community development and public relations.

Thomas is a graduate of Virginia State University and George Washington University.



Stephanie K. Rones, Executive Director

Attorney Rones has been involved in a wide range of real estate-related activities since 1987, including the acquisition and management of housing and project development, advocacy for affordable housing, economic revitalization and community development and legal services. Prior to joining PCDC as the founding Director, Rones in 1998, she was a NAACP Housing Attorney and District of Columbia Council staff.

Rones received her JD degree from Georgetown University Law Center with a concentration in Land Use, Real Estate Finance, Conveyances Zoning & Taxation of Real Estate and BA in Economics from the University Of Southern California.

She is a graduate of Harvard University ’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, Executive Education. Certificate in State and Local Government Program; Georgetown Univ. Certificate in Non-Profit Management, University of Maryland, Executive Program, Housing & Community Development; Neighborhood Reinvestment, Homeownership Training.

 

  • Rones has demonstrated experience in comprehensive community education process.
  • Skilled in determining which design and programmatic elements are and are not negotiable for a successful project.
  • Ability to work with development teams to communicate community issues between client, development and consultants, and funders.
  • Skilled in acting as a liaison between the development team and local government.
  • Ability to act as an advocate for development through due diligence and entitlements, including planning, and approvals.
